River's Edge Holiday Concert

The 8th annual River’s Edge Holiday
Concert will be held on December 15, 3:00 pm at Hudson High School, 69 Brigham
Street and will continue our 2013-2014 Hometown Season. Performing in this popular concert, which has become a warm and
festive community tradition, will be the fifty member strong River’s Edge
Community Band under the direction of David Bailey, the growing River’s Edge
Chorale directed by Paul Johnson which welcomes forty local singers, and ten talented
local youth in the River’s Edge Youth Chorus under the leadership of Jan
Patterson. The members of these groups represent over 20 surrounding
communities.



 Highlights in this years’ concert include:  River’s Edge Community Band:  La
Gazza Ladra Overture (The Thieving Magpie
by Gioacchino Rossini,  the
traditional Greensleeves and La Boutique Fantasque (The Magic Toyshop)  with themes by Rossini and more… River’s Edge Chorale: 
Irving Berlin’s White Christmas,
The Voice of Evening composed by
hometown composer Margery Ziegler Goldstein, an Chassidic Round entitled Haida, and There’s No Place Like Home for the Holidays by Robert Allen among
others… River’s Edge Youth Chorus:  Riu, Riu, Chiu, a Spanish carol,  Red
Tail
by Mark Herholzer, in honor of our Hometown Hudson Hawk and Aaron
Copland’s I Bought Me A Cat. The
River’s Edge Performing Groups are all part of the River’s Edge Arts Alliance
and will perform individually and then join together in true River’s Edge
Holiday Concert tradition with a wonderful version of Fred Waring’s Twas the Night Before Christmas as well
as a beautiful  Let There Be Peace On Earth arranged by our new Community Band
Director, David Bailey.



 Come early and finish your holiday shopping at our 2nd
annual River’s Edge Holiday Shoppe featuring arts and crafts handmade by local
artists and vendors and a poinsettia sale which will take place in the
cafeteria from 2:00-3:00, during intermission and after the concert. Visit upwitharts.org or call 978-562-1646 to
purchase tickets in advance online or by phone and save $1. Tickets are $14 for
adults, $12 for seniors/students and $10 for children under 10. Members save an
additional $2 per ticket.  Hudson High
School is wheelchair accessible. $.50 from each ticket sold will be donated to
the Hudson Food Pantry
