ReplyDan: This is a blog, not an article. Bloggers can post on any topic they wish. If someone wants to rebut this blog, they should and it will receive the same placement/treatment as Mr. Austin's. The more opinions, the better!

ReplyChrissy I am glad to hear the quality continued. I was there in 77 and 78 and still have fond memories of Sr. Joseph and Sr. Marguerite.

ReplyThis is so sad! I started learning French here, made wonderful connections with the nuns who taught me and saw my nieces and nephews follow me through St. Anne's. This is definitely a loss!

ReplyMy first car was a white VW Fox, manual. I learned to drive on stick shifts, but not European ones...I had no idea the reverse was where first gear was and nearly drove through the house of the guy from whom I bought it. Live and learn, I suppose. It is still my favorite car! My Aunt Marie named it Daisy and Daisy saw me through a lot of years!

ReplyFor me, the Wonder Bread Factory was the best! The smell and the thought, as a child, of an entire warehouse filled with Hostess and Wonder goods was just too much!

Such an honest post, Gary: I love it. You are right. Anyone can be a father—or mother even—but the true test comes when they are a Dad or a Mom, when they live up to the meaning of those words. Happy Father's Day to you and thanks for sharing your story on Patch!
