Businesses, town employees all benefit from casinos. Police see higher salaries, businesses see more revenue, the people who benefit financially will ALWAYS have positive things to say. Some people even see "extras" from the casino's.

The average homeowner or resident will see nothing but negatives. More traffic, more trash, more crime, etc.. AND don't forget, if it is an Indian casino, its tax exempt. The developers can see anything they want but in the end, Milford residents will get the shaft if we allow a casino. There is plenty of land between Worcester and Springfield to build this thing, drop it their!

These casino people will say anything, come up with any statistics to justify putting a casino in Milford. Obviously we have a problem with our water supply and adding this HUGE casino is only going to drain our resources even more.

Let me make sure I am perfectly clear in what I am saying. I have NO problem with the youth center, any program that helps kids in a positive way is a great thing. I was just questioning the financial and business sense of this arrangement. I wasn't aware any other group was using this facility because I have never seen that. Are they paying to use the facility and if they are, where is that money going?

I am just talking about what is in the best interest of the Milford taxpayers, the ones who "purchased" this building. We didnt buy it for a "whopping $1" if we have to invest a million + into it. I also dont understand why a PRIVATE nonprofit is funded by the taxpayers. We pay the directors salary, a $150K plus annual budget and the cost of the building? That doesnt make business sense to me.

This is something private investment should be paying for, like local business. Like I said, I think its great place and very needed but I'm not sure I'm happy paying for it and I don't think the town has been completely honest and upfront with the costs. THAT'S what is 'Silly".

I have no problem with the youth center but when the town bought the center, the taxpayers were told it would be self sufficient and we would not be spending tax dollars on this facility. We already picked up the tab for the $60K that was overspent, now another $300K?

Sounds great but not how his voting record reads. There is no problem with entitlement programs except the way the money is wasted and the fact that their is no end to it. Entitlement programs need to empower people not enable them. Giveaways have never worked except to buy votes for liberals.

Set goals that need to be achieved to keep receiving the help, teach a man to fish. audit expenses to make sure we don't have 100 people getting paid to administer the same benefits, get rid of the unions that have been sucking our tax dollars for years.

We always hear this type of talk, when will we see some action?

Anyone who lives in Milford can see these numbers are awful "convenient". At least we know they are listening because they skewed their numbers to usuage our concerns of traffic on 16 and 85. They make no sense at all and Its clear that Dino sees that. This town does not have the capacity for this type of facility.

I have raised both of my boys here and will probably never leave Milford BUT if this came into this town, you would see a mass exodus of the locals including myself. I run a childrens nonprofit in this town and we would have to relocate..

As an Executive Director of a 501C3 that pays no salaries, I agree with you completely. Look at not only the salaries but also the expenses. Many charities bury compensation in the form of reimbursements, expenses and fringe benefits.

Shw had to know she was in the mix for this job. Why did she run for re-election. I get sick and tired of comments on here that take a swipe at Milford. This has nothing to do with "Milford", this was her decision.

She ran against a perfectly capable opponent who could have taken the job. Milford is a great town that I have lived in for 21 years and raised two children here. The persons running the town do a great job but because they are so efficient, they are taken for granted.
