ReplyBeautiful story, Heather. I did the 100-mile ride in the same event last Saturday and it was truly inspiring from start to finish. To see the cancer survivors be introduced to the song, "Here comes the sun" before the race started was very touching. Were the 100-miles grueling? Absolutely. But I kept thinking about the pain, fear, and uncertainty that cancer patients experience as they try to beat cancer and it became a lot easier. This was a truly wonderful event for a great cause and I was so happy to be a part of it. All the people, from the volunteers, cancer survivors, and riders, were truly amazing!

ReplyDiana, you are an amazing person. My girlfriend told me about the time her daughter had double-pneumonia and needed a special device. You not only had it, but you brought it out on to Elm Street and right to her car so she didn't have to get out of the car with her baby. I thought that was a great story about your heart and character. From reading the comments, it's obvious that you had a great impact on the community. I wish you all the best!
