I totally agree. If it wasn't a flat bed it would have been someone's front porch or whatever else was in the way. Same thing with the guns, if there were no guns it would have been a homemade bomb or whatever else the person could have concocted.

ReplyWhy is it that the passenger is always the one killed in drunk driving accidents? It makes me sick that the driver almost always walks away unharmed. I hope this guy gets the longest sentence possible.

ReplyI live right off Winona Street and the amount of cops looking for this guy was unbelievable. Honestly no exaggeration at least 5 marked Peabody cruisers and at least 8 state troopers plus a state police helicopter. I would have thought the guy robbed a bank or car jacked someone at gun point. I'm guessing he's probably hiding in someone's shed or something because they had the woods surrounded from Puritan Lawn up Winona Route 1 and the 128 on-ramp.

On the article Peabody Man Accused of Downloading, Sharing Child Porn

ReplyLook at this article from the Newton Patch. Same type of charge but he was tried in Federal Court and they locked him up for 45 years. Maybe the feds should pick up every case involving online child porn, that's the only way to keep children a little safer because obviously the state doesn't do anything to protect them.

On the article Do You Support Mandatory Minimum Sentencing Laws?
J

ReplyI think mandatory minimums make sense for murder, rape, child molestation (or any sex act involving a child other than statutory rape) etc. I do not understand why 75% of the mandatory minimums are for drug offenses. If you sell drugs to a child under 18 then you should rot in jail. If an adult wants to smoke crack until they're blue in the face so be it. I understand drug addiction leads to other crimes, but to lock drug dealers up for years and let child molesters out after a year or two makes no sense to me.

ReplyDisgusting. I can't believe the other pervert only got 6 months. There is something seriously wrong with the state's so called justice system.

On the article Should Your Kids be Videotaped While Riding the Bus?

Bonnie-Jean I don't think Johnny is saying it's ok that your daughter is being bullied and neither am I. I think his point is that she needs to learn how to stand up for herself rather than letting them get to her. When I was in school all the bullies were kids that had either drunk or trashy parents that didn't care about them at all. Many of these bullies got smacked around by their parents all the time. Not making an excuse for their behavior, just pointing out the fact. She needs to learn to give it back to them, even if her comments are just horribly mean. Sure going to the school is an option for you/her, but that's just going to make it worse for her in the long run because they're going to be relentless after the bullies find out that her mom went to the school about it.

I'm sorry but $50k bail is ridiculous. This guy, in my opinion is a cold blooded killer. No one forced him to drink and drive. He knew what could have happened as a result, and still made the choice to drink and drive. Drunk drivers that kill people should at the very least be charged with manslaughter. My condolences to Mr. Walker's family and friends. It's disgusting to think that his family will now suffer their loss and this drunk loser will most likely walk out of jail very soon and continue on with his pathetic existence. I truly hate drunk drivers with a passion.
