Marlborough Owed $190,000 by Northborough
If sewer bills continue unpaid officials say water and sewer to Algonquin Regional Vocational Technical High School could be shut down.
The town of Northborough owes $190,000 to Marlborough for the treatment of sewage at three sites in Northborough. “Hopefully we can stir things up and get a check to us," said Mayor Arthur Vigeant. Mayor Vigeant and Department of Public Work Commissioner Ronald LaFreniere revealed the amount owed as an update during Monday's City Council Meeting. The town owes money dating back into fiscal year 2012, said Mayor Vigeant. The town of Northborough has been growing, as has its sewage needs, said Mr. LaFreniere as an explanation for the high amount owed the city. “It’s a lot of money and typically it’s not that big a bill," he said explaining the town is billed on a quarterly basis. “They owe us a pretty hefty sum at this point.” The money is …
