Local Man is Accused of Child Rape, Witness Intimidation

An investigation that began at the end of March has yielded a serious arrest.

The Marlborough Police Department and the Middlesex District Attorney's office both released information Wednesday pertaining to the recent arrest of a Marlborough man on child rape charges. Cleverson R. Matias, 30, of 159 West Main St., Apt. 3, was arrested just after 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at his home address, as a result of an investigation by the Marlborough Police Department that began at the end of March, said a representative of the DA's office.  Matias is accused of the statutory rape of a child, indecent assault and battery on a child under the age of 14, impeding an investigation through witness intimidation, and distribution of obscene matter to a minor. Marlborough Man Arraigned in Northborough on Child Rape Case

Jeffrey Chaulk was arraigned on charges of raping and assaulting a child under the age of 14 over a long period of time.

A Marlborough resident, originally from Northborough, was arraigned on rape and assault charges Wednesday in Westborough District Court, accused of having sex with a girl and giving her alcohol and pot when she was between the ages of 11 and 16. Jeffrey Chaulk, 51, 280 Elm St., Apt. 9, Marlborough, was arrested by Northborough police in cooperation with Marlborough police on a warrant Tuesday on charges of aggravated statutory rape of a child, three counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14, and statutory rape of a child. Prosecutors asked for $25,000, according to TheDailyNorthborough, while McMaster, citing Chaulk’s cooperation during the investigation and arraignment, asked for $5,000. Police Arrest Marlborough Man on Child Rape Charges

After a lengthy investigation, Northborough police, along with the assistance of the Marlborough police, have charged a local man.

Marlborough and Northborough police arrested an Elm Street man on Tuesday on charges that include raping a child under 14. Jeffrey M. Chaulk, 51, 280 Elm St., Apt. 9, Marlborough was arrested by Northborough and Marlborough police at his residence on charges of raping a child, three counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14, three counts of statutory rape of a child, enticing a child under 16 and furnishing alcohol to a person under 21. The arrest follows an investigation conducted by Detective Maffioli of the Northborough Police Department on incidents that occurred "over a lengthy period of time." All of the alleged offenses took place in Northborough. Chaulk will be arraigned at Westborough District court on Wednesday. …

Level 3 Sex Offender Registers in Marlborough

Police Chief Mark Leonard notified the community Thursday that a Level 3 sex offender has registered his residence in Marlborough.

The Marlborough Police Department alerted the media Thursday afternoon to the fact the a Level III sex offender had registered to live inside the city limits. Kevin John Doherty, 59, listed his residence at 28 Mill St. He is a white male, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighing 230 pounds. His eye color is listed as blue, and has gray, or partially gray, hair. Doherty was convicted of assault with intent to commit rape on April 19, 1978, and then again convicted on two counts of indecent assault and battery on a person aged 14 or older on Nov. 8, 2004.  "Pursuant to the Massachusetts Sex Offender Registry Statute, I am obligated to notify various organizations of the presence of Level III (high risk of re-offense) Sex Offenders in the community," …

Worcester Man Faces Rape, Kidnapping Charges in Marlborough

The Marlborough Police Department arrested a 36-year-old Worcester man Tuesday evening, after he sexually assaulted and held a local woman captive in her own home.

Police responded to a 911 call at a Central St. apartment Tuesday evening, to find that a woman had been sexually assaulted and held against her will. Officers discovered Jeffrey A. Butler, 36, of 40 Melbourne St., Worcester, in apartment 1A of the building holding the unnamed victim.  "A domestic incident transpired involving an individual who had an active abuse prevention order against him," said Detective Martha Shea. "A sexual assault was reported to officers, and the suspect was combative towards them (the police) as he was being taken into custody."
