Man Charged with Assault to Murder
A local man was charged with assaulting a disabled person in an attempt to murder them.
A man has been held without bail after being charged with assault to murder after allegedly strangling and suffocating a disabled person. Police have charged Joseph White, 47, of 6 Witherbee Ter. Apt. 6 with assaulting a disabled person following an incident at 3:22 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 29. According to the police report by Marlborough Police Officer Paul McCarthy, White hit, choked, smothered and placed his full weight on the victim and stated "I want you to die." The victim was bleeding from their mouth and nose when police arrived. They were transported to Marlborough Hospital.
