New Trash System 'Keeps Animals Out,' Streamlines Recycling
Starting next month, Marlborough residents will have a new trash and recycling collection program.
In three weeks, the city will get a new waste collection program, streamlining the collection of trash and recycling. Currently, residents have trash collected on each day of the work week and recycling must be hand sorted before it is collected. Starting July 13, the city will be divided into two zones and all trash will be picked up on Fridays. With around 10 trucks, the entire city’s trash will be collected in one day. The recycling will be collected at each residence every other Friday, necessitating the two zones of the city. I agree with LM. I also requested more barrels and was refused. I do not have access to a truck and, I too, do not wish to load my car with trash to haul it to the dump! When my solid waste bin is full it is not as easy to move as they say it is. I too can't wait for winter when even if I can manage to get the barrels to the curb they will get plowed in by the snowplow. Or heaven forbid, the plow…   more ›
