Cause of House Fire to Remain a Mystery

The destruction from a recent house fire is so complete that the true cause of the blaze may never be known.

House Explosion Victim Dies and Fire Investigations Concluded

The victim of the house explosion last month died this week and the cause of structure fires in the city has been determined.

It was an explosion that shook a neighborhood. That explosion has now claimed a life. The early morning explosion at 15 Grant Ct. shook surrounding houses and destroyed the home. Fire officials confirmed that gas was the source of the explosion, although the exact cause had not been determined. Investigators with the Fire Marshal's Office had been waiting for an opportunity to interview the victim, they now await a report from the state coroner's office. The causes of three of the six structure fires that occured in the city within a three week period have been determined by the Marlborough Fire Department. Victim in Marlborough House Explosion Dies

The victim in the October house explosion has died.

State Fire Marshal Stephen Coan and Marlborough Fire Chief James Fortin announced Wednesday that the victim of the October 28, 2012 explosion at 15 Grant Circle in Marlborough has died. "One of the key things that will happen now is we will be waiting for a report from the medical examiner'ss office. That will be a part of wrapping up the investigation," said Jennifer Mieth, Public Information Officer for the Office of the State Fire Marshal. The explosion is being investigated by the Marlborough Fire and Police Departments and State Police assigned to the Office of the State Fire Marshal. All I can say is this....whatever he may have been doing which caused this fatal explosion had put allot of other innocent people in harms way. This neighborhood has allot of families living in this radius, not mention also an Elementary school as well. It will be unnerving if it does turn out this incident was not an accident. Fire Rips through a Marlborough Home

An early morning house fire had fire fighters battling the flames and the elements.

Smoke was flowing over Lincoln Street early Thursday morning as a house fire ripped through a nearby home, forcing fire fighters to battle the flames and the elements. "The wind makes is an issue," said Deputy Fire Chief Ron Ayotte, who explained the wind and freezing rain soaked fire fighters. The two alarm fire was first noticed by a police cruiser in the area. When fire crews arrived, there were heavy fire conditions from the second floor and burning through the roof of the two family home at 10 LaCouture Ct., according to a release from the fire department. House Explosion Still Under Investigation

The cause of a house explosion is still under investigation by the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

The investigation into the house explosion that ripped apart a home and shook a neighborhood continues as officials seek to speak to the victim. "We haven’t been able to speak to him. So the investigation is still ongoing," said Jennifer Mieth a representative of the Office of the State Fire Marshal. Fire officials confirmed last month that gas was the source of an early morning house explosion Sunday.
