During a snow storm in the last days of winter, MetroWest spent Tuesday morning shoveling dense, wet slush as temperatures flirted with climbing above the freezing point. The area got as much as eight inches in some areas, forcing many area schools to cancel class. Did you take any photos during the storm while you were home with the kids? Marlborough could see up to a foot of snow.
Once again, the snow is melting. But once again, don't put the shovels away. Because once again, the weekend is bringing us more snow. A new snowstorm is headed our way for Saturday and Sunday, and Marlborough could see up to 12 inches of new snow before it's done. On his blog, WHDH meteorologist Pete Bouchard is calling for light rain along the coast Saturday with snow inland and snow everywhere by Sunday morning. There may also be some coastal flooding. "Heavy snow through early morning Sunday. Roads will be tough to travel, and yes, your flight will most likely be delayed or cancelled. Marlborough is under a blizzard watch, but what exactly does that mean?
The National Weather Service has issued a Blizzard Watch for Marlborough, which in short means stay off the roads. A blizzard watch will go into effect beginning Friday and continuing into Saturday. According to the weather service, this means a potential for considerable falling or blowing snow. This will be accompanied by winds of over 35 miles per hour. Visibility will be below 1/4 mile with whiteout conditions at times. All of this means travel will be very dangerous, leading the weather service to advise people be prepared to alter any travel plans.

A second storm is headed to the area and could make driving hazardous on Saturday.
A second storm of the week is headed toward New England and will dump more snow onto the area on Saturday. 7News meteorologists are predicting Marlborough and surrounding areas to get between 2 to 4 inches of snow in the storm that is expected to start on Saturday afternoon and spread into the early hours of Sunday. The good news is that snow removal shouldn’t be a backbreaking endeavour. CBSBoston’s Todd Gutner said the snow will be “dry and fluffy for most,” though he warned that driving could be hazardous at times on Saturday.

The snow that will roll through New England Tuesday will avoid accumulating throughout much of Massachusetts.
The only "storm" this week is forecast to mostly miss Marlborough, or at least bring no accumulation when it rolls through tomorrow. The storm will bring overcast skies and snow along and below the Mass Pike line, according to Jeremy Reiner on the WHDH Channel 7 Weather Blog. This will be the only "storm" of the week, said Reiner, and take place midday into the late afternoon. Wednesday will see the sun return, he said, but not high temperatures.

According to the National Weather Service and multiple local news outlets, Marlborough is about to get its share of the upcoming snowstorm expected to begin late this evening. Local officials and National Grid are preparing for a whiteout that is expecting to leave behind 12-16 inches of snow. “We will be ready for this storm and whatever it brings,” said Christopher E.
