With retailers buzzing around the holidays, it is important to support local small businesses that rely on their neighbors in order to continue prospering and building the local economy in Marlborough. 5 Things For Which We're Thankful

From our logo to our readers, I have reasons to be thankful this Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving has always been a time for me to reflect on the past year and remember the things big and small that have made my year better. This year I am looking at a new job working here. But it is not just the job that I am thankful for but you, the readers, and the many elements that make this site so unique and valuable in the community. So here are some of the things that I am thankful about when it comes to Patch. 1. We're Patchers, and not Elves. Now, I'm all about team spirit but rocking pointy ears is not at the top of my list of chosen accessories. 2. The Patch site is so…

You can come inside and we can cook it for you." The experience goes beyond the food and lands squarely in the bar with multiple TV's that will stream in the NFL Package to the restaurant and bar. Even the booths have individual TV's to let you choose the game of your choice. During certain Patriots games, former players will even be making appearances…

Local Businesses and City Weather the Storm

Local businesses and the city of Marlborough weathered Hurricane Sandy with their heads high and doors (mostly) open.

While the city lay mostly silent Monday as schools, government buildings and even businesses shuttered their doors, everything is back and running in Marlborough. Many restaurants shuttered their doors Monday, but the Main Street Cafe kept theirs open. When the power goes out and when the storm is bearing down on the city, people need a place to go for a warm meal, said owners Mary and Randy Scott.
