"Epic," "Historic" Snowstorm Prompts Marlborough Blizzard Watch

Marlborough is under a blizzard watch beginning Friday with conditions set to worsen throughout the day.

Weather officials and services are calling this storm many things, from epic to historic, even as the predicted snow totals continue to vary greatly. The National Weather Service describes the storm as historic in a weather advisory for Friday and Saturday. A blizzard watch will be in effect beginning Friday morning and extending into Saturday afternoon. The worst of the storm will be Friday night into Wednesday morning, according to the advisory. The storm is being described as "epic" by WHDH Chief Meteorologist Pete Bouchard in the Channel 7 Weather Blog. Coldest Air of the Winter Today Before Weekend Warmup

The coldest air of the winter has moved in, but expected to move out by the weekend.

The coldest air of the winter to date - by far - has moved through Marlborough with lows in the single digits overnight. Windchills were close to zero on Wednesday morning and predicted to be below zero this morning, which will be the coldest day since last February. Wednesday morning saw single digits to got along with biting winds. Although today is set to have less wind, the arctic air from the north will bring colder temperatures. According to the WHDH Channel 7 Weather Blog, most of the state will make it to the mid 20's at most by the afternoon.
