Business Owner Unhappy with Brown Tax Position
Local business owner Deborah Fairbanks is unhappy with U.S. Senator Scott Brown's position on tax-cuts for the wealthiest 2 percent.
According to Deborah Fairbanks, it is small businesses, the middle and working classes that drive the economy and they should not be asked to support tax cuts to the rich. “I think greed is completely out of control," said Fairbanks, owner of the Coffee Loft and Fairbanks Development. "I think the people that can should be asked to pay their fair share. I don’ think there should be tax cuts for billionaires." Brown's statement that he would vote to continue Bush-era tax only if it continued to apply to the 2 percent of Americans making more than $250,000 a year, has spurred Fairbanks to speak out. BTW its tax INCREASES not cuts that are in the offing. The 'Bush' tax cuts expire at the end of the year and if not extended tax rates will revert to the previous higher levels. Brown favors extending them. The DEMS will support extending them ONLY if the rates for the highest earners is increased. If not resolved Everybody's rate goes up.   more ›
