Northborough — Eliot F. Parkhurst, Sr., 92, died on January 22, 2013 at Beaumont Nursing Center in Northborough. Parkhurst was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. From 1943 through 1945, he served as a commissioned officer, first commanding PT 566, a motor torpedo boat in MTB Ron 29 assigned to the Mediterranean, and then in MTB Ron 12 assigned to the Southwest Pacific and based out of the Philippines. Squadron 12 was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation for action in New Guinea from October 1943 to March 1944. Westborough — Gary E.
