A Marlborough man was sentenced to a year of probation after being arrested for operating under the influence of liquor by State Police.
Mario Guzman-Urbina, 34, of 27 Broad St., Apt. 1 had charges of operating under the influence of liquor continued without finding for a year by Judge Robert Calagione in Westborough District Court this week. Guzman-Urbina must also serve one year of probation, pay $600 in fees and costs and complete one year of a treatment program as part of his sentence. Guzman-Urbina was also charged with four counts of child endangerment at the time of his arrest. Those charges were dismissed at the request of the prosecutors. The Shrewsbury Patch has the other cases handled in Westborough District Court this week.

The Bennington Banner is reporting that Donald Blood III, 55, of Marlborough has been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol in Vermont after he parked his car on the front lawn of a birth house of one of Alcoholic's Anonymous' cofounders. Vermont State Police told The Banner that police were called to the house on Christmas Eve at 7:25 p.m. for the parked car. The Wilson House is the Birthplace of Bill W., the co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous. State Police told the paper that Blood was a guest at the building and that no damage was done to the property. A woman was charged with operating under the influence after allegedly hiding her car after a crash while under the influence of liquor.
A Marlborough woman allegedly hit a utility pole so hard that it cut off power to a neighborhood and then tried to conceal her damaged vehicle in her garage while driving under the influence of liquor Saturday morning. “The pole was cut in half so residents and businesses lost power to the area," said Detective Scott DeCiero of the Community Services Bureau of the Marlborough Police Department. The woman, identified as Robin Casey, 29, of 42 Sumner Street Apt. 1 allegedly drove off after striking that utility pole and attempted to hide her vehicle, said Det.
