The City Council has authorized additional funds for a part-time health and pool inspector.
The City Council voted Monday to authorize the transfer of $22,614 to provide additional support for inspections for food service and pools. "We have 42 pools we inspect," said Board of Health Administrator Robert Landry of the need for the internal transfer that will allow the inspections to be made. The funds will pay for a part-time temporary position through the end of June, he said. The person will make both health and pool inspections. With the beginning of the warm weather it is time to make those pool inspections, which are roughly 1/3 hotel and the rest seasonal. Every pool is inspected one or more times a year, said Landry.

There are things other than a Hurricane going on in Marlborough today and we have them here.
1. As we hunker down to ride out the landfall of a Hurricane, you might remember last year's Halloween spoiling snowstorm. It was dubbed Snowtober and left many without power. 2. The City Council is set to discuss $2.6 million in additional funds to the public schools tonight. With a number of necessary functions wrapped up in these funds the discussion is an important one. 3. Did you see our collection of Craigslist postings over the weekend? What about the log of police activity over at Solomon Pond Mall? 4. The sheriff was around to clean up the town recently. It sounds like a western, but work crews of inmates helped clean up the city and the Middlesex Sheriff was in town to discuss their work. 5. Did your school's kitchen make the …
