Marlborough Above State Graduation Average, while Mass. Outside Top 10 Nationwide

All the high schools in Marlborough exceeded the state's adjusted graduation rate of 83 percent for the 2010-2011 school year.

All three high schools located within Marlborough's borders exceeded the state graduation rate, which did not crack the top 10 high school graduation rates in the nation, according to preliminary data released by the U.S. Department of Education on Monday. The graduation rates released Monday are for the 2010-2011 school year—the first year for which all states used a common, adjusted four-year cohort graduation rate, according to a U.S. Department of Education press release. According to the preliminary state-reported data, for the 2010-2011 school year Massachusetts had a four-year adjusted cohort graduation rate of 83 percent, which ties for 11th highest in the nation with six other states.
