Some analysts have predicted that gas prices could escalate to $5 a gallon by the summer. So who or what are you blaming?
Gas prices are going up, in case you haven't noticed. Even a smaller, more fuel-efficient car costs over $40 smackers to fill these days. And analysts are predicting we haven't seen the worst of it. AAA Southern New England reported, according to the Boston Globe, that regular gas prices have risen another nickel this week, making a jump in price for the 11th consecutive week. The average, according to the article, is $3.73 a gallon, which means it's 24 cents more than a month ago and 29 cents higher than last year at this time. Also, according to a recent article in the Boston Globe, there could even be a greater threat in New England because of the closing of three refineries that serve the Northeast. "Economists estimate that the loss …

For the fourth consecutive week in a row, gas prices in Marlborough and Massachusetts as a whole have continued to rise. "Gasoline prices have risen well above $4.00 a gallon in most every state across the country. The average U.S. family with two drivers is now paying nearly $1,000 more annually for gas than they were just two years ago according to a recent study by research gurus," said a release from the Better Business Bureau. AAA’s Aug. 1 survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.759 per gallon, up one cent from a week ago. Adding, the current price is five cents above the national average for self serve unleaded of $3.70. This is more than a $1 above the unleaded price of year ago at this …

No. It's all our faults! Basic supply and demand principals at work here. A genuine energy policy that favors North American oil supplies, incentivizes the transportation sector to convert to natural gas, conservation, rational expansion of renewables, and the expansion and disciplined use of nuclear power will lead to lower oil prices, price stability and energy security.
