Krystle Campbell Mourned at Medford Funeral

Somber mood throughout Medford Monday for bombing victim's funeral, no protesters present.

A deep sadness permeated downtown Medford Monday for the funeral of Krystle Campbell, a native daughter killed one week ago in the bombings attacks at the Boston Marathon.  The funeral brought out hundreds, lining both sides of High Street as traffic was shut down near St. Joseph's Church.  So many came out that the church got to capacity with many still lined up past the St. Joseph's Social Center. While they came to pay their respects to Campbell, 29, who most recently lived in Arlington and worked as a restaurant manager, many also came to shield the family from a potential protest. The Westboro Baptist Church had threatened to picket the funeral, as they do at many high-profile events, to espouse their anti-gay views. Teamster Local 25…

Marlborough Man Identified as Driver in Fatal Crash

Reginaldo Nascimento was driving the Mercedes that struck and killed Robert Weitzler of Framingham last week.

Police have identified the driver of the Mercedes that struck Robert Weitzler Friday on Edmands Road. Reginaldo Nascimento, 33, of Marlborough has not been cited or charged in connection with the fatal crash. The investigation is still ongoing. Weitzler died Saturday from injuries sustained in the crash. He was struck while picking up his mail and was thrown 20 feet. Weitzler worked in his family owned and operated business The Fabric Place before retiring to become a stay at home father to raise his  son, Owen, 5; from his second marriage. The owner of Marlborough Airport died suddenly Friday, April 27.

Robert Stetson, 65, of Marlborough and the owner of the Marlborough Airport for more than a decade, died Friday, April 27, 2012. Stetson, reportedly died at Marlborough Hospital after suddenly falling ill. Service arrangements are being handled by the John P. Rowe Funeral Home. A wake will be held Monday, April 30 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the same address. Additional services will be private and held at the family's convenience, said a representative of Rowe Funeral Home.  A retired engineer, Stetson purchased Marlborough Airport from Donald Lacouture in 1999. Born and raised in Marlborough, the practitioner and academic died at his home in Tucson, AZ.

Dr. Mark Iannini, 58, of Tuscon, AZ and formerly of Marlborough, died Wednesday, March 28, 2012 in Tucson. He was born in Worcester, MA on November 21, 1953, the fourth son of Americo and Carmela Iannini. He was raised in Marlborough and graduated with honors from Marlborough High School. He received his BA degree with high honors from Holy Cross College in Worcester. Mark fulfilled a lifelong dream when he was accepted and earned his M.D. with high honors (AOA), from Georgetown Medical School. He next completed his training program in internal medicine at Dartmouth Mary Hitchcock and Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. The Marlborough resident and popular Worcester area musician was killed in a late-night car crash last week.

James Scott Ricciuti, 48, of Marlborough, died Thursday, April 5, 2012 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Scott was born in Marlborough where he lived for most of his life. He was an extremely talented and well known musician, songwriter and performer who played at countless venues and with countless musicians. He worked for the family business, Murhall Inc., in Worcester for many years, where much of his work is still part of the Worcester area and surrounding towns.  He was loved by all who knew him. Services for the longtime Marlborough funeral home director will be held Tuesday, April 10.

William R. "Bill" Short, 63, of Marlborough, died Wednesday, April 4, 2012 surrounded by his family.   He was the husband of Linda N. (Currier) Short to whom he was married for 43 years. He was born in Haverhill, the son of the late Hector and Arlene (Cardarelli) Short and lived in Marlborough for the past 38 years after purchasing the former Brown Funeral Home and moving here with his wife and young family. He would continue to own and operate the funeral home, changing to the current William R. Short and Son Funeral Home, until becoming ill recently.
