Canned goods aren't the only thing the Community Cupboard needs to keeps its shelves stocked.
When one area resident went to gather together goods to donate to the Community Cupboard in Marlborough at 255 Main Street, they were curious what items are needed right now. Some items are at a critical need at the food pantry that serves to bolster local resident's cupboards. Among those are: These are some of the needed items, but the Community Cupboard provides a rounded package to their clients, as shown in the video along with this story. In addition to dry and canned goods, the pantry distributes meat, bread, vegetables and fruit. The food is available once a month to Marlborough residents. Volunteers gathered to hand turkeys out to Marlborough residents who are in need this Thanksgiving.
More than 550 turkeys were given to Marlborough residents at the town's Boys and Girls club on Tuesday who needed a little help putting food on the table this Thanksgiving. "Not everyone can go home and have a family meal enjoy those blessings," Paul Mina, the President and CPO of the Tri-County United Way said. Volunteers also handed out turkey breasts which Mina said can feed a family in need for several days. "Thanksgiving brings top-of-mind awareness to the problem," Mina said.

The Marlborough Community Cupboard has expanded clothing services.
The Marlborough Community Cupboard has expanded services after receiving an upgrade over the summer. “We have worked hard to implement changes that will expand our ability to provide support to those in need," said Carol Phipps, the manager of the Cupboard. The services are part of new guidelines laid out by United Way of Tri-County, which oversees the Cupboard. A new area designated for clothing has been equipped with large racks donated by TJX. The organization will also now take donations of all clothing and household items during their business hours from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The food pantry located in the Cupboard continues to be a resource to those in the community and receive donations from local groups…
