Marlborough doesn't have fireworks for the Fourth of July, but that doesn't mean you can't see any. Don't miss out on area fireworks display from around the state. They're not all in recognition of the Fourth of July, either: there are plenty of opportunities to catch a display even before the holiday. See the PDF attached to this article. Here is a list of things going on in and around Marlborough today.
1. There is an expected high of 87 degrees on this Independence Day with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1pm. Areas of fog before 9 a.m., otherwise, partly sunny. Marlborough Patch is always talking about the things you can do in Marlborough; here is a short list of things you can't.
1. At least for the next day or so, you can't swim on the left side of the beach at Memorial Beach on Hosmer Road. See our story here. 2. It is illegal for private citizens to use, possess, or sell fireworks in Massachusetts, or to purchase them legally elsewhere and then transport them into the state. The law prohibits any article designed to produce a visible or audible effect. There has been some discussion of changing this, but not this year anyway. Learn more here. 3. There can't be any hunting, motorized vehicles, fires, littering, cutting or removing of trees or plants, camping and swimming at Ghiloni Park on Concord Rd. Can one have a "warming" or "just for atmosphere" fire? For instance a fire in one of those fire pits that are sold at Home Depot, Sears, Target, Walmart, Lowes etc. I'm talking about a fire with 3 or 4 split logs. Not huge or anything, something reasonable.   more ›
