Marlborough Man Identified as Driver in Fatal Crash

Reginaldo Nascimento was driving the Mercedes that struck and killed Robert Weitzler of Framingham last week.

Police have identified the driver of the Mercedes that struck Robert Weitzler Friday on Edmands Road. Reginaldo Nascimento, 33, of Marlborough has not been cited or charged in connection with the fatal crash. The investigation is still ongoing. Weitzler died Saturday from injuries sustained in the crash. He was struck while picking up his mail and was thrown 20 feet. Weitzler worked in his family owned and operated business The Fabric Place before retiring to become a stay at home father to raise his  son, Owen, 5; from his second marriage. Marlborough Woman Succumbs to Injuries After Motor Vehicle Crash

A 91-year-old resident has died after sustaining serious injuries in a Dec. 27 crash in Sudbury.

The Sudbury Police Department announced Monday that a 91-year-old Marlborough woman has died just days after sustaining serious injuries in a motor vehicle crash. Stella Mercuri, of 168 Mill St., Marlborough, was a passenger in a car involved in a a crash on the evening of Tuesday, Dec. 27 in Sudbury. She died Saturday, Dec. 31 shortly after noon, said the office of the Medical Examiner.  The accident remains under investigation by the Sudbury Police Department, the Massachusetts State Police Reconstruction Unit as well as the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, said a release.    The operator of the vehicle in which Mercuri was traveling in, Wendy Courtney, 39, also of 168 Mill St., has been released from the hospital. Marlborough Man Involved in Fatal Shrewsbury Crash

Police are on the scene of the crash on Main Street in Shrewsbury.

The Shrewsbury Police released the following information: On Dec. 21, 8:54 p.m., Shrewsbury Police, Fire, EMS responded to the area of 761 Main St. for a head-on car crash that resulted in the death of one of the drivers. Preliminary investigation said the 2004 Hyundai Elantra was traveling in the 700 block of Main Street east when it crossed the center line, then struck a 1997 Dodge Pickup truck head on. Shrewsbury Police Officer Chad Chysna was first on scene and discovered the driver of the Hyundai was not breathing, and rendered aid until additional assistance arrived. UPDATED: Westford Woman Killed in I-495 Crash

Marlborough first responders were among those to help out at the fatal crash Friday afternoon.

UPDATED, 8:30 p.m.: The crash on Route 495 southbound, south of Exit 23C/Simarano Drive in Southborough, killed a female passenger and seriously injured three people, according to Massachusetts State Police. At 1:03 p.m., the Westborough Fire Department responded to a reported rollover accident, and state police in Millbury were called to the scene at 1:15 p.m. State police said a 2010 Freightliner M2106 truck, registered in Massachusetts and owned by DL Peterson Trust of Maryland, was towing a 2007 Case backhoe/front-end loader on a trailer. It was traveling south on Route 495 when the backhoe rolled off of the trailer and landed on top of a 2000 Toyota Sienna operated by a 42-year-old Westford woman, Yingzi Wang. The Toyota and the …
