Who has the best “decked” house in Marlborough? According to users who voted in our annual Deck the House contest, this home has the best holiday lights in Marlborough. We had tons of national entries in this year’s Deck the House contest and in our quest to find the most over-the-top holiday decorations in the country, we’ve seen everything from a life-size Santa to holiday lights so bright they could blind the neighbors. We loved showcasing everyone’s holiday spirit, but Deck the House isn’t over yet. We’re still looking for the one home so spectacularly decorated that it could be the national grand prize winner of our contest. We’ve chosen 24 finalists from all our entries across the country. Did you decorate your house for the holidays this year? Enter our "Deck the House" contest and you could win $100,000 for your local school district and $500 to pay your electric bills!

We’re launching our annual Deck the House Contest to find the most over-the-top holiday decorations in America—the best “decked” house in the country—the one home so spectacularly decorated that everyone in town jokes your holiday decorations could rival Rockefeller Center’s. If this sounds like your house, upload a photo or video of your home to our contest page from now to Dec. 16. Go to our contest page to enter: http://deckthehouse.patch.com/contest/marlborough.  Only residents of Patch towns are eligible to enter. We’ll select 24 regional finalists, and from them, pick one grand prize winner. Patch will pay up to $500 of the utility bill for each finalist, while our national winner will have $100,000 donated to his or her local school…

Deck Your House and Win $100,000 for Marlborough Public Schools

Get out the lights and holly. Your decorating could net $100,000 to our schools. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to win a $100,000 gift to the Marlborough Public Schools.

Patch.com is launching a nationwide contest to find the best dressed home in its Patch communities, and the winner’s school district will receive $100,000, no strings attached. Here’s how the contest works. Beginning on Dec. 8 and continuing through Dec. 26, you can nominate your home by uploading a photo to the contest entry form on the site. During that same time period you and your neighbors will also be able to vote for your favorite festive home. The winning entry will be forwarded to a national Patch judge that will select 24 finalists. Each finalist will receive $500 that they can apply to their December electric bill. It's time to participate in some important Patch events, and there are some holiday plans waiting in the wings.

Our weekday morning column, 5 Things You Need to Know, provides you with information that can help you plan your day and give you some fodder for water cooler conversations. 1. For the third year, Assabet Valley hosted the annual Legislators’ Breakfast, inviting federal, state, and local officials to the tech school’s restaurant for an opportunity to update them on both progress and current needs. Superintendent/Director Mary Jo Nawrocki addressed the group, telling them that she had also invited students from the senior leadership class so that they could picture students’ faces when asked to vote on issues relating to education.
