The fatal shooting of Bryce Coutinho by a Marlborough Police officer has been ruled justified following an investigation by multiple agencies. "The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office has determined that the response of the officer was justifiable under the law to effect lawful objectives, including the need to protect himself from the immediate threat of death or serious bodily injury from the subject who ignored repeated warnings to drop the knife and advanced on the officer with that knife in a small confined space with no reasonable means of escape," stated a Press Release from the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office. A fatal police-involved shooting of a man with a knife on Monday night is under investigation by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.
The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office is conducting an investigation into the facts and circumstances surrounding a fatal police-involved shooting that occurred Monday evening at 52 Meadow Brook Road in Marlborough. According to a release from the office, at approximately 8 p.m. Monday Marlborough Police responded to 52 Meadowbrook Road for a domestic disturbance to assist in the removal of an unwanted person from a residence. Upon arrival, police were confronted by a man armed with a knife, according to officials. A Marlborough police officer discharged his weapon, according to the District Attorney's Office. The man who shot and killed Marlborough resident Kenneth Brunelle in an early November hunting incident has been indicted by a New Hampshire grand jury, the Boston Globe reports. Brunelle, 31, was a first time hunter out with his father and brother on the first day of the 2011 firearm season, when Wade Holmes, 49, of Lisbon, NH, fired his weapon killing him instantly. WMUR-TV in New Hampshire reported that Holmes did not wait to pinpoint his target before firing, and has been subsequently charged with negligent homicide and reckless shooting. Robert Stetson, 65, of Marlborough and the owner of the Marlborough Airport for more than a decade, died Friday, April 27, 2012. Stetson, reportedly died at Marlborough Hospital after suddenly falling ill. Service arrangements are being handled by the John P. Rowe Funeral Home. A wake will be held Monday, April 30 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the same address. Additional services will be private and held at the family's convenience, said a representative of Rowe Funeral Home. 1. A Marlborough experienced the loss of a young resident on Saturday morning. Police responded to this unattended death and services have been set. The Department of Public Works (DPW) has begun a citywide street sweeping program that will run for 10 to 12 weeks, Monday through Friday from approximately 4 a.m. to late evenings depending on the neighborhood. James Scott Ricciuti, 48, of Marlborough, died Thursday, April 5, 2012 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Scott was born in Marlborough where he lived for most of his life. He was an extremely talented and well known musician, songwriter and performer who played at countless venues and with countless musicians. By late Thursday afternoon a number of friends and fans of Scott Ricciuti had begun an outpouring of remembrances and condolences on various Facebook pages, including his own. "Scott, there are no words to describe the love that all of your friends and family had for you," wrote a friend. "You will truly be missed by all who knew you, even if it was only for a short while. Your musical talent and ability to make even a stranger smile is a quality this world needs. The world suffered a loss losing you. Rest in peace, Scott.
