You Review: Joy Asia

This Chinese food restaurant and buffet is also a popular night spot.

Joy Asia is a well-known Chinese food eatery and bar in East Marlborough, that is also a popular night spot offering karaoke two nights a week.  Lunch and dinner buffets are available throughout much of the week, and a large menu offering traditional Chinese restaurant fare is available as well.  Located on Route 20 and open seven days a week, the restaurant has plenty of seating both in the bar and in the rear dining room. Have you been there recently? If so, how was the food? What menu items would you recommend? Do you enjoy the nightlife offered? What would make you go there more? This place used to be really good a long time ago. Last time we were there was about a year ago and we will never go back. There was food stuck on the walls, seats and who knows where else. If the diningroom looked the way it did I can only imagine what the kitchen looked like. Adding a 4th " D" for disgusting to say the least.   more ›

OPINION: Quality Chinese Food at Low Prices

Swing by Panda House for a meal that won't break the bank.

Lying at the edge of Main Street in the heart of downtown Marlborough is one of those much sought after, yet often hard to find restaurant mirages: Quality and cheap Chinese food. Because the restaurant boasts just five tables, most patrons order their food "to go." Begin your meal with an order of hearty steamed dumplings, which are a slightly more healthy option than their fried counterparts. The dumplings were also more desirable than their traditional egg rolls, which turned out to be rather uninspiring. For lunch, Panda House offers 22 combos on their lunch special menu, all of which are under $6 and …

OPINION: Yummy Kitchen Offers Classic Chinese Take-Out at Great Prices

This grab-and-go joint on Boston Post Rd. E. gives super-sized portions at lower than average prices.

The best way I can describe the food at Yummy Kitchen is: cheap, classic, and most importantly, pretty darn good. When I think about going out for Chinese food, I don't necessarily always want the pricey, high-end product I might get at a PF Chang's (or something of that caliber). I want the spicy, delicious chunks of General Gao chicken in a sweet, savory sauce, or the simple goodness of some beef and broccoli all at a good price. These are things that Yummy Kitchen does very well. The lo mein is also very good with a variety of options, though the shrimp isn't always deveined. The steamed pork dumplings are always another highlight for me. Large and filled with plenty of meat, they are very well-complimented by a delicious dipping sauce…

My family started going there about a year ago after looking around for better place to get chinese food. We agree the price is very reasonable, the food is good and the staff is always friendly.   more ›
