Holiday Gift Ideas for Pets and Pet Parents

Animals are cherished all year long as important family members — here you'll find suggestions for thoughtful yet practical holiday presents for them and/or for people who adore their own.

During the holiday season it's more important than ever to try to get as much as you can, out of every gift you buy. This includes the gifts you get for your own precious pooches, fantastic felines, and all the others you hold dear, whether they may be feathered, finned, or furry.  If you don't have pets of your own, you most definitely know of someone who holds at least one close to his or her heart. The following is a guide to help you make sure the pet gifts you buy this year will not only be greatly appreciated, but will also be well-worth purchasing.  "I think that our customers think of their pets as family members and are doing whatever they can to spoil them, just like their human family members (especially the children)!" said Amy…

There is a cat similar to your cat that I found approx. 2 months ago. She doesn't have the white on her nose, weighs in a 7.5 pounds this is why I asked. I took her in because she is definitely an indoor cat and not outdoor and I have advertised on Craigs list that I found her. You should call both veterinaries in Marlboro. People that have lost their cat check there. I took this cat there and I …   more ›

Raven and Meeko are Looking for Homes [VIDEO]

Couldn't your home use a new pet?

Cat: Meeko is a 6-year-old Ragdoll. He arrived at the Buddy Dog Humane Society in June and is super sweet and affectionate. He would do best in a home with children age 10 and older. It would also be best if Meeko were the only pet in the house. Dog: Raven is a 5-year-old Carin Pomeranian Mix. She has been at Buddy Dog for a year and is anxious to join a family. She has not had a lot of interaction with strangers and it has taken her longer than most to learn to trust. Raven would thrive in a home with a gentle adult in a quiet environment. A home with kids would not be ideal. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter to keep up to date on the latest Marlborough news, or simply hit the "like" button at the top of this page.

Cat: Bullet is a 3-year-old domestic short haired cat who arrived at the Buddy Dog Humane Society in Sudbury on Aug. 4. He was brought in as a stray. Bullet is friendly and good natured and would do best in a home with children age 8 and up. Dog: Juanito, or "Nito" as he is called, is a 6-year-old Toy Fox Terrior. He was brought to Buddy Dog on August 23 because his owners moved to a home where pets are not allowed. Nito loves playing with balls and going for walks. Meet Peter the Dog and Easter the Cat [VIDEO]

These are just two of the many cats and dogs awaiting adoption at the Buddy Dog Humane Society.

Cat: Easter is a 5-year-old domestic short haired cat. She is an affectionate cat who was brought to Buddy Dog as a stray. Easter is a mellow lap cat who loves to be petted and held. She enjoys being around kids and other cats, too. A home with children age 5 and up would be best for her. Easter will be a wonderful family pet. Dog: Peter is a 2-year-old Beagle Mix. He came to Buddy Dog as a stray so not too much is known about him. What is known, though, is that he is a sweet dog who enjoys going for walks and cuddling with the staff and volunteers at Buddy Dog. He is looking for a home with children age 10 and up. Peter likes other dogs, but is not good with cats or other small animals. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter to keep up to date…

The Metrowest Animal Awareness Society Has the Purr-fect Cat For You

There are currently 70 cats waiting to be adopted in the Marlborough area.

The Metrowest Animal Awareness Society is in possession of 70 cats which have been rescued in the Marlborough area. Dispersed among 15 local homes, these felines are looking for families to call their own. Some have been found wandering the streets, some have been rescued from hoarding situations and a litter was discovered at the transfer station— but all have one thing in common—  they all need loving homes.  Meet some of the cats: 1. Auntie Mama, a brown Tabby, was found on the street near Jaworek School. She is a domestic short haired cat who is approximately 2-4 years old. She is de-clawed. 2. Electra, a domestic short haired cat, is a 4-month-old red Tabby. She was found on the doorstep of a local vet. Electra lost a leg when it was …

VIDEO: Weston and Maxwell Are Looking For a Home

Take a break from the heat and head on down to Buddy Dog.

Cat: Weston is a 9 week old domestic long haired cat. He is a fiesty kitty who is full of energy. He tends to play rough with other cats so it would be best for him to be the only feline in the house. A home with children age 10 and older would be best. Dog: Maxwell is a 3 year old Basenji. He is best suited to a family who is familiar with his breed as they are hunters who like to run and chase. Also, they do not bark, they yodel! Maxwell would prefer a home with much older children and one without cats - another dog would be fine! Georgia and Miss. Mustard Are Looking For Homes

Take a trip to Buddy Dog in Sudbury and adopt an animal today.

Cat: Miss. Mustard arrived at Buddy Dog on July 14 at just 10 weeks old. She was found outside all by herself and is still learning to be around people. Wouldn't she be a wonderful addition to your family? Dog: Georgia is a 5-year-old Labrador Mix who is relatively new to Buddy Dog. She is looking for a home without any cats but possibly another dog. The perfect scenario for Georgia would be a home with a fenced in yard where she can play freely. She especially enjoys playing with stuffed animals and fetch with a ball.
