Training guides bank personnel in the case of a robbery.
Bank employees at St. Mary's Credit Union location on Northboro Road East had training to fall back on during Friday's bank robbery. "Every bank is very cognizant of the potential of robbery and every bank has procedures in place and training in place of what to do in the case of a robbery," said Anthony Battista Vice President of Marketing for the credit union. Battista said that he could not comment on the Friday morning bank robbery; nor could he give specific information about the bank's procedures. One person was arrested by state police and a GPS tracker was reportedly put in with the money given to the robber. Police later confirmed that the man was unarmed and had passed a handwritten note demanding money. Receive breaking news in …

Bank robberies, fires and a woman allegedly hiding her battered vehicle after snapping a utility pole in half; officials were busy this week.
It has been another busy week for Police and Fire officials. The week ended with a bang, or rather the threat of one, as police arrested a person at gun point following a bank robbery at St. Mary's Credit Union on Friday. Fire fighters had been busy the previous day with a structure fire that caused $10,000 in damage to a local business. At least he avoided the Tazer treatment that another unruly patron received in the incident. Police had their hands earlier in the week when a man strangled two dogs and hung a baby by its leg in a "drunken rage," …

"It was learned that no weapon had been shown by the suspect and a written note had been passed demanding money," said Police Chief Mark Leonard in the release. The hold-up alarm went off at approximately 9:04 a.m., prompting police to respond to the bank. On arrival, they were able to get a description of the suspect, his vehicle and the direction he had driven in. A vehicle matching the description was spotted by officers minutes later within a short distance of the bank. The vehicle …
