A Marlborough man has been accused of assaulting a roommate with an acoustic guitar early Tuesday morning.
Police arrested a Marlborough man after he allegedly assaulted his roomate with a steak knife, acoustic guitar and then bit him. "The defendent grabbed the kitchen steak knife and cut his hand with it,” said Marlborough Police Detective Paul DeCiero. "He then grabbed a guitar and hit the victim at least two times." Police arrived at Short Street after an assault was reported. An investigation indicated that Harold A. Garcia, 23, of 49 Short Street Apt. 3 had assaulted his roommate with a steak knife and guitar before biting his nipple and hitting him multiple times, according to court reports. A man from Honduras has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly smothering a woman.
A fight between a man and woman over the weekend resulted in an attempted murder charge when the man allegedly tried to smother the woman. "She stated she was strangled," said Marlborough Officer Scott Carey who was told by the woman she was also threatened by the man later identified Ever-Jose Rivera-Espinales, 24, of 22 Mount Pleasant Street Apt. 22. "He told her that he would come back from Honduras to kill her if she made him get deported." Police placed Rivera-Espinales into custody and took the woman to the police station to talk. A night out in the city for a Vermont man allegedly ended in him assaulting and injuring a police officer after he got drunk and aggressive. Police responded to the Prospector East Saloon on Lincoln Street shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Friday night. They had responded to a report of a drunken man trying to fight people at the bar, reported Marlborough Police Officer James OMalley. Area police were busy in the last week as they dealt with a number of issues.
From a suspicious man at playing fields to intoxicated drivers, it was a busy week for area police. The week started with concern caused by a man reportedly walking his dog at area fields while youth sports were being played. The Hudson man has been investigated by Hudson police and is not deemed a threat, said Marlborough Police Chief Mark Leonard. He encouraged parents to keep an eye out while at the sports fields, however, saying that there have been cases where people who probably should not have been at the fields were present. A woman who was allegedly sexually assaulted by a man she met at a trade show in Marlborough ran to a Northborough residence for help.
A Canadian man has been charged with sexual assault of a woman he met at a trade show in Marlborough, said police. Tyler Buttle, 31, 2901 Greenfield Rd., Inverary, Ontario, has been charged with two counts of indecent assault and battery and assault with intent to rape. Early Friday morning, shortly after 2 a.m., Northborough police responded to a call at a house on Main Street, where the homeowner said a woman had come to their home shortly after 2 a.m. The woman knocked on the door seeking help because she had been assaulted, said police. A Marlborough student has been accused of indecent assault and battery after police were called about a sex offense.
Police have charged a 17 year-old student with assault and battery following an incident on a school bus. “The victim and the suspect are both students," said Det. Scott DeCiero of the Community Services Bureau of the Marlborough Police Department. On March 26, Manuel A. Teo Jr., 17, of 39 Ringold Street allegedly innapropriately touched a female student on a bus, according to police. As the female student walked by on the bus, Teo reportedly came up behind her and touched her between her legs, according to Det. DeCiero. Both the victim and Teo are students at the Phoenix Program at the Hildreth School, according to police. A man was arrested after assaulting hospital staff.
Police were called to the Marlborough Hospital last week after an unruly patient threatened staffers and caused damage. “He became belligerent and verbally abusive to staff members," said Detective Scott DeCiero of the Community Services Bureau of the Marlborough Police Department. “He raised his fist towards a staff member and threatened to punch her in the face." At 9:40 a.m. police arrested Shawn Patrick Higgins, 44, of 31 High Street in Hudson. In addition to threatening that staff member, he tore down a privacy curtain and threatened other staff members. Higgins was charged with vandalizing property and two counts of assault.
