Police found a large amount of a "leafy green substance" in the vehicle of a man they arrested for allegedly driving under the influence Sunday.
Police leveled marijuana dealing charges against a man after arresting him for driving under the influence of alcohol early Sunday morning. "Officers located a large amount of green leafy substance believed to be marijuana," said Marlborough Police Detective Scott DeCiero of the arrest made at 1:28 a.m. Police had been following the vehicle driven by a man later identified as Jay M. Parente, 33, of 9 Rogers Ave. after it made an abrupt stop, he said. The vehicle was pulled over after it almost hit the sidewalk and crossed the center line. A Marlborough man has been accused of dragging a pregnant woman by her hair.
Police have arrested a Marlborough man after he allegedly dragged a pregnant woman across the ground by her hair. “The officers arrived and spoke with the female who reported that Hendrick punched her in the side of the face and then dragged her across the ground by her hair in an attempt to bring her into the vehicle," said Marlborough Police Det. Scott DeCiero. Police had been called to the scene after a witness saw the man pulling the woman towards the vehicle and intervened, according to police. Police arrested a woman on heroin charges after stopping to investigate a public argument.
When police pulled over to speak to a man and women arguing in public they allegedly found a heroin needle in the woman's pocket. "The officer reached in and the officer retrieved the needle with a substance inside believed to be heroin," said Marlborough Police Det. Scott DeCiero of the incident that occured shortly before 5 p.m. Monday. The officer had seen a man and woman arguing on Chestnut Street near Sumner Street. When the officer was speaking to them, the capped, hyperdermic needle could plainly be seen in the woman — later identified as Colleen M. Cahill, 36, of 30 Bigelow Street in Brighton — by the police officer, said DeCiero. Cahill was arrested on a charge of class A drug possession.
