Police are responding to a multitude of vehicle crashes Sunday.
Update: Scanner reports that there is a road closure at I-495 northbound at exit 25 A and B due to icy road conditions. Original post: Car crashes in Grafton and Marlborough are among some of the more serious on Sunday afternoon and evening due to icy conditions on the roadways. Dave Procopio, spokesperson for the Massachusetts State Police, said information on these crashes will be forthcoming, as police are "flat out right now" responding to incidents. "We have been responding to multiple crashes on Routes 2, 190, 290 and 495 in Central Massachusetts this afternoon," he said. Traffic is at a standstill on Route 290 East and 495 North at the 495 exit after a tractor trailer roll over.
UPDATE 3 PM: According to Marlborough Fire Department officials, the tractor trailer that tipped over was carrying frozen foods in the trailer box, but everything was contained within the trailer. The Marlborough Fire Department responded with a fire engine, rescue and support vehicles. No diesel fuel has been spilled. Ted's Towing will be pulling the tractor trailer upright.
