Yard Waste Collections to Begin, Discussion of School Video Security Policy

Here are five interesting or important things coming up this week.

1. The Marlborough School Committee Policy Subcommittee will meet at 3:30 p.m. Monday at the Whitcomb School Library. The agenda includes a discussion of school video security, including data storage requirements, as well as a review of forms for head injuries and concussions.

2. The Marlborough City Council City Services Committee meets on Tuesday. The agenda includes a request for a license for a consignment store: Georgi's Consignment Boutique, at 266 Main St.

3. A draft Open Space and Recreation Plan will be presented from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at City Hall. The meeting will include a summary of the draft plan and review of results of a city-wide survey.

4. Halloween is Thursday. Please drive carefully as children and their parents or other chaperones will be walking at dusk and after-dark.

5. Leaf and yard waste collections will take place in November. The first streets will be picked up on Monday, Nov. 4. The leaves should be put at curbside in paper bags or barrels (NOT in plastic bags) by 7 a.m. on your day of pickup. (No grass allowed, by the way.) The pickup day is your OLD garbage collection day. See the schedule here if you need a reminder.
