U.S. Rep. Niki Tsongas to Address Marlborough Chamber

Here are five things that are interesting or important in the week ahead.

1. U.S. Rep. Niki Tsongas on Monday will address the Marlborough Regional Chamber of Commerce at its annual Congressional Legislative Update Breakfast. This is the first time Rep. Tsongas will have addressed the group since redistricting added Marlborough to her district. She will discuss her efforts to support legislation important to small businesses and job creation, as well as the ongoing economic situation in Congress, according to a note from her staff.

2. The Marlborough City Council meets at 7 p.m. Monday. The agenda includes only a few items, including correspondence about a $14,726 grant for the city Police Department for the Rape Aggression Defense Systems Program, along with funds to re-certify five instructors.

3. The Marlborough Planning Board meets at 7 p.m. Monday. The agenda includes discussion of the Marlborough Rotary "turkey shoot."

4. The McAuliffe Charter School will host an information session on Wednesday, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in Framingham. The school is open to students in fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh grades. Another information session is scheduled for Thursday.

5. The Conservation Commission will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Hall. The agenda includes discussion of the Overlook at Lake Williams, although the project is expected to be continued until Dec. 19.
