City Council to Vote on Ward Park-Senior Center Site, Municipal Elections

Here are five things to know to help inform your day.

1. The Marlborough City Council meets at 8 p.m. Monday, and the issue of whether to place a new senior center on a section of the city's Ward Park is among the items scheduled for discussion and a vote.

2. The Marlborough Planning Board meets at 7 p.m. Monday. The agenda includes discussion of the "Festival of Trees" arranged by the Marlborough Historical Society.

3. The municipal election is Tuesday. The ballot includes contested races for the City Council, in Wards 2 and 5, as well as for Marlborough School Committee.

4. On Thursday, the Marlborough Conservation Commission will discuss a proposal for a 224-unit apartment complex on Ames Street called "The Preserve at Ames."

5. The city announced this week that any strange odor at Evergreen Cemetery is likely the result of fertilizer being set down at the site.
