The New England Center for Homeless Veterans Gets Sweats

Late Christmas morning, a truck load of brand new Boston team sweatshirts navigated from Marlborough to the New England Center of Homeless Veterans on Court Street in Boston. 175 sweatshirts and 100 long-sleeved Red Sox tee-shirts were welcomed at the shelter.

The wrapped gifts were a big hit with the veterans. Almost as soon as the gifts were laid out on the table, they were graciously received by the veterans. Many of the veterans immediately put on their new attire and sincerely offered a word of thanks and a Merry Christmas greeting. Even though the vast majority of veterans received a sweatshirt, unfortunately a few went without. "Every homeless veteran deserves a warm piece of clothing on Christmas Day," stated Mark Vital, President of Sweats for Vets. He continued, "We need to try even harder next year, so that no homeless veteran goes without."

Sweats for Vets is a local non-profit that provides new sweatshirts to homeless veterans throughout Worcester and Boston. Check out their website at: www.sweats4vets.com
