Those of us who live in Massachusetts know that we have great kids - but not everyone realizes that we have some of the smartest kids in the nation.

That’s what a new compilation of data by FindTheBest.com has found when it looked at all the educational data available from education departments across the United States, according to a story on The Huffington Post.

Researchers took scores from SATs, ACT, AP, and National Assessment of Educational Progress tests and created a map to present the data.

After all the data was tabulated, Massachusetts’ students received a 4.92 rating.

Students in New Hampshire led the way with a 5 rating. Students in Vermont, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Minnesota also received high ratings.

Hi, Dave. Unfortunately, private schools are not immune to CommonCore. Home Schooled children must take part, as well, which will add such a burden on these 2 forms of education that many will not be able to continue, thus public schools will have more children.

Sounds like a dumb down conspiracy, Amy. Along with all the other horrible things going on, this country is becoming scary.

We need to get the Washington bureaucrats out of the education business! All they are good for is too make things more bureaucratic and to serve their own needs and agendas. It's tough enough dealing with local and state bureaucrats. Get rid of the federal DOE! Remember that "Common Core" means mediocrity. Mass doesn't need it!

The key to winning is to give people something to fight FOR. In Massachusetts, it's MCAS. MCAS has raised our state to tops in the world, not just the US. As a parent, I want the best for my children - let me fight to keep MCAS. See the psychology of it?

Myron gets it. Imagine all those hacks who are likely out of their fields, forming curriculum? This can't be good. Back to parent teacher principle vice principle and neighbors with kids leading the way in appropriate discussions. Not more radom studies that categorize students and eat recourses.
