Stanley Named New Principal at Marlborough's Kane Elementary

Stanley brings more than two decades of experience as an elementary school teacher.

Veteran building principal, school adjustment counselor, special education team facilitator and classroom teacher Wendy Stanley has been named the new principal of Kane Elementary.

Stanley, who currently is in her fourth year as principal of Haverhill’s Bradford Elementary School, brings with her a history of raising standardized test scores, creating positive school culture, collaborating with and mentoring teachers toward improved instruction, implementing a new bullying prevention curriculum, and partnering with her PTO to raise funds for school technology improvements.

Prior to her principalship, Stanley worked as part of a school special education team, facilitating the individual education plan process and chairing team meetings. In her role as adjustment counselor, Stanley coordinated and conducted both individual and group counseling sessions for students to help them overcome issues that impacted their educational experiences.

Stanley also brings with her more than 20 years as an elementary teacher, a criteria determined to be significant by Kane teachers and parents and the principal search committee, who provided input as to the most important characteristics and experiences they wanted in a candidate.

Pending completion of successful contract negotiations, Stanley will assume Kane’s principalship mid-summer. She will succeed 2013-14 Interim Principal Steve Silvestri.
