Scott Brown Speaks At Marlborough High Graduation

Scott Brown imparted words of wisdom and encouragement during Marlborough High School's graduation Sunday.

Marlborough High School hosted its first guest graduation speaker in years Sunday when former U.S. Senator Scott Brown spoke to the class.

Brown encouraged students to stick with their goals even in the wake of setbacks. Following his loss to Elizabeth Warren, Brown was attempting to figure out how to transition back into the private sector when he received a letter from Alex Pelletier with student signatures asking if he would speak at the graduation.

"As a result of that letter in a time in my life, it gave me the strength to move forward and continue to drive on as I've done since the day I was born," said Brown.

He encouraged all the students to pursue their goals and ignore the naysayers.

"You will never, ever regret giving your all to a great endeavor," said Brown. "If the cause is worthy and the effort honorable, the only way you will ever have failure is to not try at all."

As a gift to the class, he put signed copies of his book underneath every graduating student's seat.
