Marlborough Kindergarten Registration Announced

Save the dates: Feb. 26, 27 and 28, depending on the last name.

Editor's Note: the following is a release from the Marlborough Public Schools.

Kindergarten registration days for the 2014-15 school year will be 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 26, 27 and 28 at the District Education Center, 17 Washington St.

All children living in the city of Marlborough who will be 5 years old on or before Aug. 31, 2014, are eligible to enter kindergarten in the fall of 2014.

Students whose last names begin with letters A-H should register on Wednesday, Feb. 26. Letters I-P should register on Thursday, Feb. 27, and letters Q-Z should register on Friday, Feb. 28. Parents who are unable to attend on their designated date can attend one of the other two sessions.

The Marlborough schools’ website, www.mps-edu.org, has a Kindergarten Registration page under the “Students and Family” tab. The page includes:

  • A registration packet, which includes most of the forms that need to be turned in on the day of registration. The can be printed out and completed prior to the registration day to save time during the registration process.
  • The kindergarten registration information document that provides basic information about the registration process.
  • The residency affidavit, which must be completed if the parents/guardians registering a student rent/lease their home.
  • The dental exam form that is required to be on file for every registering student.

Marlborough elementary schools are neighborhood schools; attendance areas are determined by street address. Included in the list of forms and information on the webpage is a street listing that indicates which elementary school students on any particular street would attend.
