Marlborough High Wins Big in Annual Music Competition
Music department wins 17 awards in prestigious national challenge in Williamsburg, Va.
Congratulations to the High School Music Department's team and individual accomplishments earlier this spring at the Williamsburg, Va. FiestiVAL!
won the Grand Champion Trophy based on the combined scores of its Wind Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble.
Gary Piazza was awarded the Award of Distinction for his work with the Wind and Jazz Ensembles. This award is presented at the discretion of the judges and FiestiVal coordinators noted the award is seldom given.

Piazza is the high school marching band director and teacher of wind ensemble, jazz ensemble, advanced placement music theory, and guitar and piano workshops.
Shannon Phypers, the choral director at the high school and music teacher for grades 4 and 5 at the Whitcomb School, also directed her students to several excellent and superior awards.
