The Lady Panthers defeated Melrose 3-1 in the Division 2 state championship on Saturday.

The came out on top on Saturday in the varsity volleyball Division 2 state finals, defeating the Melrose Red Raiders in a 3-1 victory at Algonquin Regional High School in Northborough.  

After winning the opening set 25-22 Melrose lost three straight sets by scores of 25-23, 25-13 and 25-20. The Panthers, the champs of Central Massachusetts, can now add state champions to their resume.
