With the Presidential election just weeks away, voters are interested in knowing more about the candidates. As a public service, John Poreba of The Leadership Institute will present a free seminar “The Alinsky-Obama Connection” on Monday, September 24th, 7 pm at the Northborough Free Library, 34 Main Street.
Saul Alinsky has gained a great deal of attention lately because of his history as a community organizer who has influenced many left-leaning leaders including Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton (she wrote her college thesis on the Alinsky model).
Mr. Poreba will describe Alinsky’s radical philosophy which is captured in “Rules for Radicals” – a book Alinsky dedicated to Lucifer. It clearly reflects a philosophy based on moral relativism and controversial tactics, e.g.,

“The first step in community organization is community disorganization."
"The job of the organizer is to maneuver and bait the establishment so that it will publicly attack him as a ‘dangerous enemy.’"

“Remember: once you organize people around something as commonly agreed upon as pollution, then an organized people is on the move. From there it's a short and natural step to political pollution, to Pentagon pollution."
Mr. Poreba will then describe how Saul Alinsky's philosophy and tactics heavily influenced President Barack Obama's thinking, communications, and political strategy, which was attested to by son L. David Alinsky, in a letter to the Boston Globe suggesting that “Obama learned his lesson
well.”
