Sato said that his mother used to make him play tennis when he was younger and he started competing in the sport in 2008 when he was an eighth grader.
“Other than the fact that my serves never go in, I deeply enjoy playing tennis,” Sato shared. When asked what he loved most about the sport, he said, “If I had to pick something, definitely, (it would be) the joy of ripping a winner shot down the alley. Feels way too good.”

Stats: Sato remains undefeated with a 7-0 record in third singles. The team’s record is 5-2.
What's next: Sato said that he “can’t wait” to start college in the fall at Northeastern University and major in mechanical engineering. “I will definitely continue playing tennis if I have the chance to, but I'm worried if my current skills will be enough to play at the college level,” he added.
Highlight: When Sato was a sophomore, he earned recognition as Most Improved Player. The following year, he received the title of Unsung Hero with his doubles partner, Jason Levine and had the highest record for the year with Levine.
