AMSA Among Top 5 Massachusetts High Schools

The Advanced Math & Science Academy Charter School has been ranked among the top five high schools in the state in a national ranking of high schools released today.

The Advanced Math & Science Academy Charter School has been ranked among the best schools in the country in a review by U.S. News.

AMSA was ranked at 130th among schools nationally and at third place among Massachusetts high schools. Sturgis Charter Public School in Hyannis took the top spot, at 31st nationally, with Boston Latin School claiming the second place and the 57th place nationally.

The U.S. News worked with the American Institutes for Research, a D.C.-based organization, to evaluate the overall performance of the schools. This evaluation takes into account overall student performance, according to U.S. News, including how students do on standardized tests. Learn more about the ranking system here.

More than 21,000 schools were analyzed for the national ranking. The full 2013 ranking is available on the U.S. News website.

A recent ranking also placed AMSA among the healthiest school districts in Massachusetts.
