In the Details: Disappointed After Kings of Leon Cancel US Tour

The tweet made it sound as if Caleb was drunk and out of control. I quickly googled the band to see if I could find out more info.

This summer, my boyfriend and I decided we were going to be very responsible with our "concerting." Unlike previous summers, we decided we would do Bonnaroo and then maybe 1 or 2 other shows. The Kings of Leon/Band of Horses tour was a definite. We love both bands and we have never seen BOH live so we were pumped. We waited to purchase tickets until yesterday because we couldn't decide if we wanted to go to the Virginia show or the Connecticut show...or both. We contacted friends and family around Marlborough and got a small group together. Comcast Theatre is one of my favorite venues so again, I was pumped!

Sounds good, right? Not so much. A few nights back before falling asleep, I checked my twitter and saw one of the Followill brothers tweeting about Caleb (lead singer of KOL) leaving the stage mid-show in Dallas. The tweet made it sound as if Caleb was drunk and out of control. I quickly googled the band to see if I could find out more info. The show had been cancelled after Caleb left the stage. He announced to the crowd that "I'm gonna go backstage for a second and I'm gonna vomit...I'm gonna drink a beer and I'm gonna come back out and I'm gonna play three more songs."  Well, he never came back. Show over.

We payed close attention to the news and twitter after that show. They ended up cancelling their Houston show and I thought that was probably a good idea. Cancel Texas shows, get sober, get some rest, and get your act together. No such luck. A few hours after we bought our tickets yesterday, KOL announced that they were cancelling the remainder of their US Tour. Frick!

Of course, we'll be reimbursed but that doesn't even matter. The excitement and anticipation of the show had already gotten the best of me. Now, I'm just depressed and annoyed. I've been trying to find out what Band of Horses will do in light of the cancelled tour. It would be nice if they kept touring, but I haven't heard a thing. I understand that the band needs to get its act together and get Caleb some help, but it still sucks. Did you have tickets?
