New Art Show in the Works

Each year artists and art lovers alike patiently, or sometimes not so patiently, await the "Animal Show" at the Post Road Art Center.

Each year artists and art lovers alike patiently, or sometimes not so patiently, await the “Animal Show” at the Post Road Art CenterI am often told of pieces in the works for this show months in advance of the event. Well, this is it!  Artists have been dropping off work and they have until 7 p.m., Thursday, April 2 to do so. If you are interested in this event you can download a registration form that has all the information you need to know!

We are excited to have a new judge this year, Lydia Gordon, lending artist coordinator at the DeCordova Museum. She will have the difficult task of choosing 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners as well as choosing which pieces actually get into the show and which ones will not…. As always we will also have the People’s Choice award and the Facebook fan page award so that the public gets to have a say on who wins as well!

If you find yourself wishing that you could be a part of events like this, but don’t have the confidence, or just need a little more practice, why not sign up for one of the many classes offered at the Post Road Art CenterIt might just give you the push you need. We have people showing who have been painting for years and some who have only taken one class. Do you take inspiration from the masters like Van Gogh and Renoir, or are you inspired by the natural world around you? Do you show in a lot of local venues? Where do you find out about upcoming shows?
