Talkin' About the Car Wash and Dangerous Intersections

Highlights of the Week:

Currently, we've got 865 fans liking us on Facebook, which is a great thing. We've also got 599 followers on Twitter, with numbers growing every day. Here are some highlights of what took place this week:

1. The Patch Facebook community has had good things to say about the service and results at the that has opened recently on Boston Post Road West. Speaking of Facebook, if you "Like" its page, you will receive a one-time $4 discount off any car wash. of the positive comments from readers included, "Excellent customer service.", "I love the fact [that] they have someone at the end who dries your car off for you." and "They do a great job!" , Kevin Labadini about his eco-friendly, family-owned business. Like the song says, "Hey, get your car washed today!"

2. There was a lot of feedback on Facebook about readers' thoughts on the most dangerous intersections in the City. One reader mentioned something that he felt was unique to Marlborough, "This city is one of the few places where 3-way stops are common. As a result, many out-of-towners blow through them." Other readers have noticed that many drivers do not know what to do at four-way stops, such as the one at Elm, Hudson and Mechanic Streets. Patch is planning to take photos of these intersections and ask officials at City Hall to participate in a discussion online with readers.

3. An 82 percent majority of wanted Rep. James McGovern's amendment to the Constitution to pass. This bill, known as The People's Amendment, is designed to reduce both corporate influence and spending on elections. One reader comments on this Patch article, "The moment paid lobbyists became a standard in the '70's, we put a price tag on the U.S. Government that corporations (domestic as well as foreign, e.g. BP) were more than happy to pay."

Marlborough Hospital welcomed Karen Moore as its new president and CEO earlier this month. The mission statement on the hospital's Facebook page states, "Our mission is to improve the health of the individuals and the community we serve as an integral part of the UMass Memorial Health Care System."
