After Hurricane Irene made its way through the region, leaving in its wake a path of broken limbs and power lines, officials from the Massachusetts Emergency Management Administration said from a press conference in Framingham that they believe it could take up to a week to fully restore power customers in the Bay State.

That said, Marlborough Patch received confirmation shortly after 8 p.m. that National Grid customers in the vicinity of Dudley Street have had their service restored. Nearby Gregoire Dr. has also had service restored, Tweeted one reader.

The Boston Herald reported late Sunday afternoon that up to 500,000 customers were without power in Massachusetts.

"He said it can take a few days to up to a week to get all the electricity back on," said the article. "The outages were spread across the state and are mostly due to high winds from the storm."

National Grid is responsible for approximately 342,000 of those customers, including the many thousands in Marlborough without power.

National Grid's website shows a map of the current outages that updates every 15 minutes. As of 8 p.m., the map showed that the majority of the city was without power.

According to a handful of Marlborough Patch readers there were only a few restaurant in the area open for business Sunday evening.

"For people looking for fast food, Taco Bell in Hudson next to Walmart is open. Also, Applebee's in Hudson, Honey Dew in Hudson," said Kimberly Clay. In addition, Friday's at the Solomon Pond Mall was open Sunday evening and packed to the brim with customers. There were also plenty of cars parked outside the Target on Donald J. Lynch Blvd.

If you have power restored, please post on this story and tell us the general area you are in.
