Special Election Turnout Tops 25 Percent in Marlborough

Markey came out on top in Marlborough.

Ed Markey narrowly edged out Republican challenger Gabriel Gomez in Marlborough, as the city reflected the decision of the state in electing Markey as their representative in the U.S. Senate.

Not only did 3145 Marlborough voters choose Markey, the percentage of voters exceeded City Clerk Lisa Thomas' hopes of around 20 percent with 28.91 percent of registered voters casting their ballot. Of those voters, 2996 cast their ballot for Gomez, while 499 voted using absentee ballots.
