Marlborough Water Flowing into Hudson

Marlborough officials approve helping neighbors.

Marlborough water is flowing into Hudson the town deals with bringing their infrastructure into compliance.

“What we’re trying to do here is just try to help our neighbor,” Mayor Arthur Vigeant told City Councilors last week. “We have a meter that goes into Hudson.”

The water began flowing into Hudson weeks before, when the town first ran into issues with the water, he said.

“They were going to have to go about two weeks without water and they asked us to help us out,” said Vigeant.

What was initially arranged to take place for only two weeks will now continue on indefinitely.

“It is very fortunate that we are able to help,” said DPW Commissioner Ronald M. LaFreniere. “They said it is going to take a considerable amount of time to bring their infrastructure into compliance.”

There is a small premium the town will pay to Marlborough for the water it receives, said Vigeant, strictly to cover wear and tear on the infrastructure and legal costs.

“We’re not looking to make money,” he said. “We are just looking for it not to cost us anything.”
